Oranges and Lemons- A Concert

The moral of the story is that even on supermarket noticeboards you can find all kind of interesting bits and bobs.
The story is that the Academy Singers have a very 17thC theme to their next concert. From the flyer…

Two vibrant choral cantanas including the Australian premiere of ‘The Great Fire of London’ by Alan Simmons, the dramatic events of 1666 told through the eyes of Samuel Pepys, the famous diarist, his maid and the chorus. On a lighter note, Bob Chilcott’s ‘Songs and Cries of London Town’ mixes sounds of the 17th century with contemporary flavours. Irresistible!

3pm Sunday 7 November
St Hilda’s, Katoomba St, Katoomba
$15 at the door- followed by refreshments. And we all love refreshments! I wonder if they will be period goodies?

That particular date is looking tricky for myself but shall try! Would love a report from anyone else who attends.
